"My husband and I adopted two beautiful children, and we are incredibly grateful to their birth mothers for having the courage to choose adoption for their children. From the moment we were matched with our children, they became ours, first in our hearts, eventually in our homes. We have loved them unconditionally and experienced all the joys and trials of raising them just as those experienced by parents of biological children. I quit my job to be with them full time from the moment our oldest child joined our family. We gave them private school educations, beach and camping trips, vacations, and they experienced all the love and acceptance from our extended family as if they had been born into it. We have been asked if it matters that our children are a different race from us. We can assure you it does not. Today, both our kids are college educated professionals, with good lives and the continued support of our family. If you are pregnant and considering adoption, please know that your child will absolutely be loved and cherished, and you are turning the heartbreak of infertility for another couple into a celebration of life and love by placing your child in their home. You became a mother from the moment you conceived, and if you are unable to raise your child yourself, you are making the most loving choice a mother can make…to give her child a stable home with two parents who are ready and willing to love that child unconditionally."
