Dear Pro-life Friend,
With
Your prayers and support
PROLIFE Across AMERICA plans to launch a brand new
Fall Billboard Campaign – hopefully, the largest and most
far reaching yet! Our focus
is Fathers
and our Goal is to launch
hundreds of Billboards in as many cities and states as our budget
allows.
*Our ads will serve as a gentle reminder of a
father’s critically important
role. (See Home Page

Campaign.)
Why
Fathers? Because there are over 24 million children in America
without fathers today. That means 1 out of every 3 children (33%).
Worse yet, nearly
2 out of 3 black children (64%), live in father-absent homes,
according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
We must remember that the father – his
presence or absence – has a great influence on a pregnant
mother’s life or death decision regarding abortion.
As
you know, marriage and the family – father, mother, and children
– are under great attack in today’s “culture of death”
society. We must be concerned
about
these trends because when marriage disappears, and fathers are
absent, children are less likely to thrive and in some cases even to
survive.
A few Facts on Absentee Fathers:
• Children who live without their biological fathers are, on
average, at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use
drugs, to experience educational,
health, emotional and behavioral problems, to be victims of child
abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than their peers who live
with their married, biological
(or adoptive) parents. (Ibid).
• Children who have fathers in their lives, learn better and have
higher self-esteem compared to those who did not have a supportive
father. In addition, children
who viewed their fathers or father figures as supportive had a
greater feeling of competence, greater sense of social acceptance
and were less likely to be depressed
or suffer from depression. (“UM Researchers find further evidence to support the importance of
Fathers” University of Maryland, Ellen Beth Levitt, Mar 12,
2008)

designs. All are a reverent reminder of the true meaning of
Christmas.
